Jia Kai (Kyle Chang) is an audio and music producer and DJ living in Los Angeles.

 

He composes and spins music under the moniker Jia Kai (pronounced: JEE-Yah Kuh-Ai), his Chinese name. He has DJd in clubs including  Mickey’s in West Hollywood; Rich’s in San Diego; The Grand in San Francisco; VUE in Seattle.

 

Often, the events serve as safe spaces for Queer and Asian crowds. His music has been featured in places like LAWeekly, Emerging 300 (debuting at 65), and Eyes on Pop (Fuccboii (2024)).

​He was trained classically on the violin as a child, and he began making electronic music in college. Since then he's worked on all types of sound, including podcasts and sound design for short films. This experimentation with audio seeps into his music making and style.
